Freudian Slip

October 1, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Remember back to those college psychology days, you know the whole Freud stuff, talking about how there’s no such thing as just accidentally saying the wrong word or phrase, it’s your subconscious talking.

My dad had one of these slips recently, he said when he went to either McD’s or BK, he ordered a ‘Big & Nasty’. The cashier was like, what? He said, you know, one of those Big & Nasty’s. She corrected him with the, ‘Do you mean Big & Tasty?’, he wasn’t sure who was more embarrassed out of the two of them.

Now I’ve got to see an oral surgeon, it’s not like oral sex where you just talk about surgery. I’ve been getting the runaround with the insurance company, so I finally get a hold of my dentist to get a referral to the one clinic in town that my Group Hell-th insurance covers, some Oral & Maxillofacial Clinic. I’m explaining to the nurse that I have the name of the clinic – it’s the Oral & Max-o-fellatial group. Nervous laugh…hee hee. Um, I meant maxillofacial or something like that.

I’m sure she was like, oh nice lady, geez, get your mind out of the gutter. Little does she know that I live in the gutter!
